Hey! A trailer for Hooping has been put together, which you can view here on YouTube (2:00). Viewing it in high quality is recommended.
Ideal for those who want to have a look at the game, and hopefully inspires you to download the game for yourself and give it a try!

Well, the term and our Major Qualifying Project have finally come to an end. We would like to thank everyone that took time to check out the website and our project.
We have released our final version of the game as it exists for this project on the download page. We have tried to clean up the files as much as possible and have gotten the compressed version of the game down to 21MB so it should be a quick download. Once unzipped the game takes about 93MB of free space.
A few of us still have plans for refining and adding to the game over time so if you come across any bugs please sign up and post on the forums. Feel free to stop by every now and again to check in on our progress or subscribe to our RSS feeds to be notified when we make any new posts.
Again we would like to thank everyone who has stopped by the website and given us feedback on the game.

Finally, after weeks of tweaking, testing and filling in the gaps, we can post a release that we can call Beta. The project is nearly complete, and we’ve got just about everything that’s going into the game in there. So please check it out, and be sure to stop by the forum…we’d love to hear your feedback.
Among the many changes from the last build:
- The acceleration issue (where putting the throttle up, then down causes a sudden increase in speed) has been fixed.
- Gravity and Pirate obstacles now work as they should.
- Collision detection in general has been cleaned up, and because of that another issue where some stuttering occured mid-flight has been resolved.
- The courses have been redesigned and textures, including skyboxes, have been fixed.
- A whole new ship body has been added, for a little extra customization.
- The ship selection screen has been redesigned to make it a little clearer which sections of the ship have been altered.
Also note, we’ve updated the Hooping Manual, as well.

Go to our Downloads page and get the latest version of Hooping!
Here are some of the things we fixed:
- Rotation of the ship now works independently of the computer you run it on (faster computers would have the ship spin out of control)
- The Cancel buttons in the setup menus work better
- Time Trial mode timer fixed (now timer turns red when you REALLY have less than 10 seconds left)
- Skill bar now updates properly
- New music and sound effects added (but more to come!)
Because it is still an alpha, we still have our demonstration levels that we used for testing and development. We recommend playing the Obstacles Demo map to get a feel of how the finished game will operate. We plan to get real race courses in soon!

We’ve also posted a simple manual on the Downloads page, which gives you some instructions on how to play the game. Helpful, huh?
